The purpose of Athens Area Pagans is to be of assistance to all those whose religious or spiritual practices could be described as Paganism, Heathenism, Witchcraft, Wicca, or any of the many related Paths and Ways related to those terms without prejudice as to the content of any individual’s beliefs or practices (so long as those practices are not illegal). Our purpose is to provide a social network and infrastructure for those who are already on such paths, not to recruit or convert outsiders. As such, Athens Area Pagans Inc. does not promote any particular dogma, doctrine, belief, or practice. We accept anyone who chooses to identify as Pagan, Heathen, Witch, Wiccan, or by any other similar term or who feels comfortable with being identified as such. We only require that anyone who joins Athens Area Pagans or participates in our events extend the same tolerance to all other members and participants. Discussion and even debate over different ideas is welcome and even encouraged, but we do not permit anyone to represent themselves as a sole and infallible authority for some point of doctrine or dogma.

By the same token, it is not our purpose to proselytize, preach to, or attempt to convert anyone to Paganism or related beliefs or practices. We will provide information about our ways to people who are interested or come to us of their own will, but we do not seek out people in order to make converts.

More generally, we do not allow any form of discrimination within the practices of Athens Area Pagans.  We encourage tolerance for all people. Although our primary purpose is support for Pagans, our bylaws indicate that we can help the larger community in times of need, and we do so without discrimination.
